Zorin OS 16 can be your new daily OS

Zorin Group released their new version of Zorin OS 16 that might seem astonishing even for a Windows user. Quick info that you should know before you'll try to install it on your VM or real hardware machine.

Zorin is a Ubuntu-based Linux distribution written in many programming languages. You can download the Zorin OS in ProCore, or Lite versions. But the Pro version will cost you 39$. They focused mainly on providing the users the choices between Windows-like, Mac-like desktop environmental, but they also used the environment from GnomeKDE, and so on.

The Pro version of Zorin OS will give you their polished applications and the productivity applications as well, and the Pro version has the Mac and Windows 11 like versions of the desktop that you can use. Other than that, you'll not obtain much more by purchasing the Pro version of Zorin OS.

If you're the Windows 7 lover, and your heart was set on fire when you discovered that there is a Core version with the same look as a Windows 7, then you're in the right place. The core version will give you the same freedom of choice and customization as all the other Linux distros, but it'll also give you the nostalgia that you secretly wanted.

Now for the updates in the new Zorin 16 OS.

  • Touchpad gestures with 3 or 4 fingers to change the workspace, and so on.
  • Flathub repository added into the system.
  • Windows app safe loader can help you install certain apps (most known applications have their setup if you're new to Linux).
  • The taskbar is fully customizable as you pleased.
  • The jelly mode will add fluid and fun to your system.
  • Direct install of NVIDIA drivers from the .iso.
  • QR code to easily connect to the WiFi network.
  • Encryption installation, and much more...,

If you install the new Zorin OS, you'll find out that their installation setup is clean, and it'll give you all the information you need without anything like "we're going to give you a choice if you want to be spied on visible or invisible, or that we want to remind you of our sponsor's apps.". Yes, I'm talking about Windows 10 and 11.

After your first installation, you'll receive a tour to help you set up your system. But you can skip it if you want to. After that, you should update all the packages, and you can step into the waters of free and open-source projects. You can pay for what you want in the app center and also how much you want. If you don't like the look of Windows 7, you can install Gnome or KDE, but it'll be without the customization that the Pro version gives you.

Zorin OS is a Linux Distro that aims at amateur computer usersnot the power-users. Overall my experience with Zorin OS was decent, and I didn't have a single problem with the installation or with using their polished apps and software. Would I recommend it for Windows users that want to break free from the cycle of being used as a data packageSure I'll! It's fast, snappy, great looking and most of all, it's working as it's presented!
