Apple delays plan to scan iPhones for child abuse content

All of you may remember the information from Apple head counters about scanning their consumers (users of Apple devices) iCloud for child abuse content

People were shocked, and they started the rebel against this movement. Without a doubt, this move from Apple would be against privacy, and many people reconsider taking back everything good they said about Apple. In many sources, I couldn't found a piece of solid information about this radical move from Apple. Not a single word if this plan was in collaboration with the government or not. From what I've read, I found out that Apple created a piece of software that can check hundreds of iCloud photos and data and search for child pornography or abuse.

Everything sounds like a dream if you take a look at it. There would be software that will be able to scan many devices and report it straight to the police or another institution in a couple of minutes. But where are human rights and privacy in this kind of manner? I'm the owner of the iPhone, but I don't live in the USA, so there wouldn't be such compatibility at a political and administrative level. But Apple would still be able to check my photos of their software.

But for now, Apple said that it had listened to the criticism and negative feedback

"Based on feedback from customers, advocacy groups, researchers, and others, we have decided to take additional time over the coming months to collect input and make improvements before releasing these critically important child safety features."

I'm glad that they use their senses because this kind of software can create a backdoor in encryption, and with two skilled hands, it could be used against activists, minorities, and much more. This is a huge step that Apple needs to consider if they want to implement this software into their OS.

Of course, there is a much worst-case scenario from people who are scared if this wouldn't be used against them as a spy device from the government. I need to say that these people have their mobile devices with them 24/7, and they have enabled GPS, and they do almost everything through the internet. Shopping, video chatting, sending hot pics, and so on. It's too late to consider if the government is spying on me cause that's what the government was all about even before the internet.

Rather than that, we should focus on our privacy in general, not only in real life or in internet life. Build the legislative around the usage of this data, and build a security system, because this is our personal space. Usage of data for Ads, and so on is normal these days, but at least I would like to know who can check at my photos and if they will be stored somewhere by the Apple of the government.

Apple delayed this implementation to the end of the year, and they said that they will give us more information about the whole system and how it will work.
